My name is Nicola and I moved to Italy in 2017 to live with my Italian husband. We live in a small mountain town in Trentino.
I began drawing as a child and had a love of horses, I would copy photos from pony magazines and books, working only in pencil and fineline pen.
A few years ago I discovered the work of artist Mary Herbert and attended her pastel workshop in Wales. It was the first time I had created a drawing in colour and I found that I loved to work in pastels.
I never considered art as a career, but when my son began full time kindergarten last year I found myself at a loose end.
With the encouragement of my family I began drawing in pastel again, creating portraits for friends and and family and decided to create my own business.
I still love to draw horses, but now create realistic portraits of cats, dogs and wildlife too.
