Frequently asked questions

I will need you to send me a digital photo in high resolution that best captures the pose and character of the animal.

If you wish to send me a selection of photos I can use them to copy certain details. 

It is possible to work from scanned photos for a memorial portrait. 

I use premium pastel pencils that are lighfast to ensure the longevity of your portrait. 

My favourite paper is Clairefontaine Pastelmat which is a sanded surface. I also use velour which offers a smoother, softer surface.

Smaller portraits of only one subject will usually take 1 week, larger portraits can take up to 4 weeks. If you would like a background this obviously takes more time. Please also consider time for delivery, as I am based in Italy. 

If the portrait is a gift I advise you to book well in advance, especially around Christmas.

I protect all portraits by wrapping them in tissue paper and they will be delivered in a padded envelope. I can deliver portraits worldwide using Italian poste or a courier service. You may incur custom and import charges.

I deliver all portraits unmounted and unframed. I advise  clients to mount their portraits so that pastel dust doesn't dirty the glass.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance,  including delivery costs, will be invoiced on completion. Payment can be made on PayPal,  but alternative methods of payment may be possible.
